Ready for the OR

Performance Coaching for Surgery Clerkships & Sub-Internships

“What will they ask me?”
“Am I supposed to say something here?”
“I studied but I still felt behind.”

You’re not alone.

This isn’t just about knowing the anatomy, it’s about knowing how to show up, respond, adapt, and earn trust in a high-pressure environment.

What This Offers:

Clinical performance coaching designed to help you step into surgery with clarity and confidence.

This includes:

  • Round preparation – what to present, how to frame it, and how to adapt based on your attending
  • Intraoperative questioning (aka “pimping”) – how to anticipate common questions, prep with purpose, and handle what you don’t know
  • OR etiquette – when to speak, where to stand, what to bring, and how to stay engaged
  • Surgical case prep – what to study before each day’s case and how to apply it
  • Team dynamics – how to read the room, stay involved, and quietly stand out

Why This Matters:

Surgical teams notice things you won’t find in your textbooks.

This space helps you prepare not just to “pass” your rotation, but to own your presence in it.

How It Works:

  1. You fill out a short intake form
  2. We meet for a 1:1 coaching session (Google Meet or phone)
  3. I’ll guide you through what to expect, how to study, and how to respond under pressure
  4. You leave with a custom prep focus list, resources, and concrete strategies to carry into the OR

This Is for You If:

  • You’re nervous about your first surgical rotation
  • You’ve had a rough start or a team that gave little feedback
  • You’re applying to surgery and want to leave a strong impression
  • You want real guidance, not just advice

This isn’t tutoring.

This is mentorship from a surgeon who’s been on both sides of the table and knows what changes when students show up prepared.
