A Private Space for Residents and Early-Career Surgeons

Career Crossroads & Life Curveballs Happen.

Some transitions are chosen. Others arrive uninvited.

Whether you’re navigating change or recovering from it, this space exists to help you think clearly, not perform.

If you’re facing uncertainty, strain, or decisions that don’t fit neatly into your CV, you’re not alone. This is a confidential place to explore complex realities, without judgment or pressure.

This space is for you if you’re:

  • Challenges in residency
  • Going through a divorce, breakup, or relationship transition
  • Struggling with burnout or emotional depletion
  • Caring for young children, aging parents, or both — and holding it all together
  • Dealing with a personal or family health challenge while trying to keep pace professionally
  • Wrestling with fertility questions, pregnancy, loss, or family planning decisions
  • Questioning your career in surgery or medicine, but unsure how to say it out loud
  • Preparing to move, change roles, or shift institutions - voluntarily or not
  • Stepping away from clinical work, or trying to return after time off
  • Grieving a loss or life shift that changed what matters to you
  • Feeling unseen, isolated, or out of step in your professional environment

What We Work Through Together

Personal Priorities

We’ll name what’s most important to you, not what looks best on paper. You don’t have to justify or edit your values here.

Professional Implications

We’ll look honestly at the impact: how transitions affect your reputation, future steps, and options and how to navigate with integrity and strategy.

Strategic Forward Movement

Together, we’ll find the next step-whether that’s clarity, composure, a decision, or simply space to exhale.

This space is not about performance.

It’s about alignment, dignity, and sustainable direction, especially when you’re at a crossroads.

What Happens in a Mentorship Session?

Sessions are 1:1, confidential, and unrecorded.

Some are focused and tactical. Others are emotional.

All are grounded in truth, structure, and support.

We talk about what actually matters to you, not what you’re supposed to say.

Privacy & Boundaries

Confidential Surgical Mentorship is a private, independent service and is not affiliated with any hospital, medical school, or residency program.

We do not mentor current students or residents under the mentor’s direct clinical supervision. Sessions are conducted outside of institutional responsibilities.
