Echoes of Mentorship

Real words. Quiet turning points. What stayed with them.

Seen. Guided. Changed.

Belonging & Identity

What it means to be seen, just as you are.

“You were the first surgeon to show me that I didn’t have to change who I was to belong in surgery. That lesson alone changed the way I saw myself and my future “- MS3 Student
“There is no need to change to fit a certain surgical mold. You showed me that.”-MS4 Studemt

Support in Uncertainty

When self-doubt crept in, someone stood beside them.

“I was so worried about my capacity to become the kind of doctor I hoped to be. You were the first surgeon to give me a true nudge, and it gave me hope.” - MS3, Shared Anonymously
“You saw me, my efforts, and my potential and told me when I was swimming in circles in my head. That moment of honest mentorship made all the difference.” - Medical Student, Shared Anonymously
“You were the first woman to speak honestly with me about the personal cost of becoming a surgeon. It was brave, it was real, and I needed it more than I knew.” - Confidential Student Reflection

Transitions & Turning Points

When the path wasn’t clear or changed direction.

“I did want to finally share some good news. I SOAP-ed into a Transitional Year. It wasn’t the path I had imagined, but I’m grateful for the opportunity and hopeful about where it leads. I cannot thank you enough for your support through this difficult time, it truly felt like I would be alone.” - MS4 Student

Every journey still leads forward.

“I matched gen surg categorical. Super excited about it. Everything you did for us really stood out on my application. It was a blessing from God to have a mentor like you in my journey. I really appreciate everything you did for me. Thank you!” - IMG, Matched into Surgery

Gratitude at the Finish Line

What they carried with them and never forgot.

“Thank you so, so much! I know for a fact I wouldn’t have been here without your presence and guidance throughout this year.” - MS4 Student
“We couldn’t help but think of you when we all started catching up and talking about where we were headed, and how we all started.” - MS4 Student
“Grad day!! We were all just talking about how grateful we were that we had our surgery rotation with you, and that we have you as mentor and support “ - MS4 Student

The Spark of Teaching

When a moment of instruction became a lifelong impression.

“Watching you teach in the OR with such attention to every plane, every suture, every word of feedback made me want to become a student of yours again someday.” -Anonymous Reflection, Surgery Rotation

Meet the Mentor

Quiet strength. Deep commitment. Mentorship that meets you where you are at, and walks with you forward.

Built from the OR. Shaped by real stories. A mentor who shows up where it matters most. Powerful mentorship, privately practiced.

I’m a board-certified surgeon with over a decade of clinical and academic experience, and a deeply human, authentic and skillfully structured approach to mentorship.

My career has spanned multiple surgical environments, from high-volume academic hospitals to community-based programs. Along the way, I’ve guided students, trainees, and attending surgeons through some of the most pivotal challenges and transitions of their lives: from clerkship to match, from uncertainty to clarity, and from burnout to sustainable growth.

A graduate of the Harvard Surgical Leadership Program, I also hold additional advanced training in systems thinking, mentorship, and health equity. Currently affiliated with a top academic medical center, I remain actively involved in surgical education and serve on national committees dedicated to supporting women in surgery.

Whether you’re just beginning the path to surgery or navigating its later stages, this space was built for you: confidential, professional, judgment-free. My clients include students, IMGs, residents, and early-career surgeons, as well as those already deeply along the path as a surgeon, each seeking not just direction, but the support and clarity for needed for transformation.

You don’t have to do it alone.

A Private Space for Residents and Early-Career Surgeons

Let’s walk this part of the path together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this mentorship for?

This space is for medical students, IMGs, residents, early-career surgeons and those already far along the path who are seeking structured, confidential support. Whether you’re preparing for surgery rotations, applying to residency, navigating a difficult moment, or simply want guidance from someone who understands the path. You are welcome here.

Is this clinical care or therapy?

No. This is not medical care or mental health treatment. It is structured, professional mentorship based on personal experience, surgical training, and years of teaching and guiding trainees and young surgeons. If you are in crisis or need clinical support, please seek licensed care.

Do you work with IMGs?

Yes, I’ve mentored many international medical graduates and understand the unique challenges you face. Whether you’re applying for observerships, preparing your personal statement, or unsure how to present your experience confidently, this space is here for you.

What kinds of services do you offer?

  • Personal statement strategy sessions (with advance review)
  • Interview preparation
  • Clerkship and sub-I coaching
  • Support after a difficult rotation, match failure, or SOAP
  • Research, presentation, and career-building advice
  • Private clarity sessions for residents, early-career surgeons and those already far along the path.

What makes this different from a tutoring or editing service?

This is not transactional help, it’s mentorship with depth and direction.

You’re not paying for a quick fix. You’re gaining thoughtful, experienced support from a surgeon who’s been in the OR, trained others, and understands what it’s like to feel unseen, underprepared, or out of place — and still keep going.

This is quiet, high-level, relationship-based guidance. It’s not about checking boxes. It’s about helping you walk through the real ones.

What kind of feedback do you give on personal statements and applications?

It’s not just grammar or polish. It’s story shaping, strategy, and insight.

We’ll work together to:

  • Find the through-line of your story
  • Highlight what actually stands out
  • Cut what weakens your voice
  • Clarify what you’re trying to say and why it matters

I’ve read hundreds of applications. I’ve sat at the table where decisions get made. I know how much gets missed — and how much can change with the right framing. You’ll come away not just with a better essay, but with a clearer sense of how to talk about your journey in interviews and beyond.

Do you offer mentorship for career or life transitions?

Yes. Some of the most powerful mentorship happens outside of traditional milestones. I work with residents and attendings navigating:

  • Major life changes (e.g., divorce, pregnancy, relocation, grief)
  • Career uncertainty or identity shifts
  • Stepping off a path they’ve worked years to be on
  • Feeling unseen, stalled, or quietly burned out

This is not therapy. But it is a safe place to think out loud and be met with clarity, not judgment.

Do you offer package deals or just single sessions?

Most people start with a single session and return as needed. Depending on your goals, we can create a short-term mentorship plan or keep it flexible. You’re not locked into anything.

Can I remain anonymous?

Yes, you may use a preferred name and choose how much to share. Everything is confidential and judgment-free.

How do I get started?

You can begin by filling out the mentorship intake form, it takes 3–4 minutes. I’ll review your responses and be in touch by email with next steps and booking info.
